Easy-Veg was started in 2008 by Mick Palmer.
In 2006 Mick Palmer constructed a large raised bed for his parents in CHCH. In seeing how much could be grown of great quality with little inputs he decided to establish his own four raised beds. This was also driven by the frustration with the quality and price of vegetables available. The results were fantastic and seeing how easy and cheap it was to grow fresh quality produce from home, Mick wanted to share it with others. So Easy-Veg was born and it soon became clear that many people wanted to eat great produce grown by their own hands, but did not have the time, knowledge or ability.
Mick Palmer is from a farming background and has spent 10yrs in the viticulture industry. His knowledge from Lincoln University, skills from his farming and viticultural background plus many years of having vegetable gardens, provide the foundation for the information contained within this site.
There is a generation of vegetable gardeners that were lost. We all have a parent or grandparent that spent many hours in the garden and a lot of their skills never got passed on.
Easy-Veg aims to provide all the knowledge and products that will turn the complete novice into a bountiful supplier. Equally an experienced gardener will have a place to share their tips and tricks as well as purchase their gardening supplies.
Mick Palmer not only thrives on being able to provide the opportunity for everyone to get the satisfaction of growing their own produce, in the knowledge that they are not only eating the best they can, but also saving money.
